Definition of Water Soluble Vitamins

What is Water Soluble Vitamin?

A water-soluble vitamin (vitamin C and B complex) are those chemical species that are readily dissolved in an aqueous medium. The biomolecules are diverse in nature some have the capacity to absorb water easily and many including vitamin D show hydrophobic characteristics. Biologists classified vitamins on the basis of their ability to absorb in water and those vitamins that can dissolve in water are called the water-soluble vitamins. Thus for the common man, the definition of water soluble vitamins are the vitamins absorbable in water.

Health is one of the key aspects of human beings that is not supposed to be neglected. Recent research shows that vitamin is very helpful in maintaining sound health and dietary intake of vitamin prevents many diseases.

Even if you are not related to the medical field, you must have the awareness to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Vitamins are know to humans for centuries and every human being knows their importance in a healthy lifestyle. In this blog post, I am going to explain a brief introduction of what are water-soluble vitamins.

You might be heard that vitamin C is very abundant in citrus fruit and doctors suggest you eat them frequently. There are two classes of vitamins and each one has its own pros. Water-Soluble vitamins as the name suggest are that vitamin with the chemical tendency to dissolve in water.

Discovery of Vitamins

Many readers don’t know the exact data that lead to the discovery of vitamins. A biologist named William Fletcher was doing experimentation on Beri Beri Disease and he formulated that patients who take unpolished rice in their diet have fewer chances of the disease. Later Hopkins and Eijkman did the research on this hypothesis and give the name vitamine (vita=Life. amine=Thymine) commonly knowns as vitamins

The data suggest that the absorption and release of water-soluble vitamins are less than the fat-soluble vitamins and these vitamins possess no harm if taken in excess. The sources of water-soluble vitamins are varied including staple food to minerals. Some of the core sources of water-soluble vitamins are citrus fruits, dietary vegetables, meat and green leafy vegetables. The lack of a diet rich in vitamins can cause several disorders including bone and eyesight problems

Sources of Water-Soluble Vitamins

The water-soluble vitamins are found in many food sources including the flesh of goats, chickens, and cows. If you are vegetarian then the water-soluble vitamins are found abundantly in the spinach, broccoli, and avocado. fortified milk and sunflower oil

What is the importance of water-soluble vitamins in human metabolism?

Human Metabolism Requires many enzymes as well as co-enzymes so that the food we intake becomes part of our body. Vitamin briefly are one of the major element that functions for effective metabolic pathway in humans

What water-soluble vitamins are and their uses?

Water-soluble vitamins not only provides an effective medium to carry out biochemical reactions and strengthen the eyesight of human. If you are worried about skin rash then the answer to your troubles is the intake of water-soluble vitamins. Thus water-soluble vitamins proved fruitful for the proper functioning of the human body

Examples of water-soluble vitamins

The water-soluble vitamin is divided into two subclasses Vitamin B Complex and Vitamin C. The vitamin B Complex is a Set of Vitamins Including vitamins B1, B2, B3. B6 and B12 etc.
